Christopher Kane founded his brand in 2006 in collaboration with his sister Tammy. His first collection consists of dresses made from elastic bands of fluorescent and neon colours. It was an immediate success for the designer at London fashion week. Original materials, innovative shapes, neon colours, prints: gradually, Christopher Kane imposes his vision of fashion upon us and ignores the trends. In 2010, he launched his first collection of men's ready-to-wear. At a small event in 2013, the Kering group became the majority shareholder of the brand, which catapulted the future rankings of the luxury brand. Pending the opening of the first Christopher Kane boutique, the brand is now sold in over 200 outlets.
Born in 1982 in Scotland, Christopher Kane started studying fashion at the famous Central Saint Martins School in London and was taught by Russell Sage and Giles Deacon. Shortly before graduation, he was spotted by Donatella Versace who offered him a job as a consultant at the label Atelier Couture. In 2006, after graduating, he decided to launch his own brand of women's Prêt-à-Porter in collaboration with his sister Tammy, who was responsible for brand management. In September 2006, Kane presented his first collection and it was a huge success. Considered as one of the most talented designers of his generation, Christopher Kane never ceases to amaze us with his creations. A play with materials, colours and prints, every season he succeeds to impose his identity upon us which is now recognizable. He consecutively received numerous awards for his work such as the British Fashion Award for best designer of the new generation, Scottish Designer of the Year, the BFC British Collection of the Year and the New Establishment award at the British Fashion Awards. In 2010, he expanded his line by offering his vision of male fashion. Meanwhile, Kane collaborates with prestigious brands such as Lancome, Versace, Shiseido, Swarovski, TopShop and J Brand.
