About the Brand
It was first at the London College of Fashion and then at Salvatore Ferragamo followed by Roberto Cavalli that Edgardo Osorio developed his expertise as a shoemaker. In 2011, at just 25, he decided to launch his own shoe brand – and the Aquazzura House was born. A brand that quickly found success and is still growing, soon won prestigious awards such as Spain's ELLE Award, a coveted title given to the best accessories designer of the year. We no longer need to introduce the “Sexy Thing” boots or "Wild Thing" sandals as they quickly became his best-selling shoes worldwide. A childhood between Miami and London as well as travel further afar derives a large part of his inspiration, reflected in his various creations.
To create stylish models that are adapted to today's woman is the ultimate goal of designer Edgardo Osorio. In undisputed modernism, his shoe collections honor tradition and craftsmanship, with details and impeccable finishes. Each pair of shoes from Aquazzura underlines the elegance of feminine curves and creates an instant desire. Between sober creations, quickly identified with colored details, fringes or laces and his most original and extravagant lines built into collections that speak to women. The designer listens to woman’s every whim and showcases their glamor and sensuality through compelling and comfortable models.
Autumn/Winter 2016-17 Collection
It was after a trip to Russia and a sumptuous festival filled with sleepless nights that Edgardo Osorio designed this autumn-winter collection. We find the Russian inspirations on the heels of the shoes and embroidered in relief - even the cowboy boot reminds us of Russia! The designer plays with different ornaments and proposes majestic models, such as the knee highs in suede and gold stitching, echoing the codes of military insignia. This season, he also initiated a collaboration with the famous model Naty Abascal, showing us once more his commitment to create transgenerational shoe models.
