About the Brand
Founded in 1966 in Vicenza by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro, the Bottega Veneta house begain crafting leather products and developed a signature look: braided leather. Success came quickly and Bottega Veneta acquired a reputation through their high quality products and meticulous work, which are the heart of the fashion house, as well as discreet and refined luxury style. After a rapprochement of trends in the 90s, the house returned to its original identity in the 2000s.
German-born Tomas Maier was trained at the Paris Chambre Syndicale of couture. Prior to beingthe artistic director of Bottega Veneta, he worked for Guy Laroche, Sonia Rykiel and Hermes. He began at the fashion house of Tom Ford in 2001. He reworked the brand identity in relation to its roots and created what he called "the four cornerstones": quality of used materials, exceptional craftsmanship, modern features and timeless collections.
