About the Brand
In 2008, Shourouk gave birth to her self-titled brand from her “cabinet of curiosities”, the name she has dubbed for her studio. The DNA of the brand consists of intricate embroidery, precious and semi-precious stones, sequins and vibrant colors. For the designer, there is nothing worse than a jewel that sits at the bottom of the box only to be taken in exceptional circumstances. From this stems Shourouk’s desire to create fashionable accessories that every woman can wear in her everyday life. A multitude of celebrities have already adopted this fresh and young jewelry line, from Lady Gaga to Michelle Obama, Jennifer Lopez and Nicole Richie: all have been spotted incorporating the jewelry of the French designer into their lives. In addition, the brand has also been causing quite a frenzy on American TV shoes such as Gossip Girl Sex and The City. Shourouk truly brings an ethereal and modern perspective into the world of women’s jewelry with pieces that are anything but ordinary.
Shourouk Rhaeim, a young Parisian who was trained as a stylist, her passion for fashion truly shines through her creations. After graduating from the Studio Berçot, she cut her teeth at Chloé in textile design. Since then, she has worked with Roberto Cavalli in Florence and John Galliano. It’s thanks to a visit to an antique shop where she unearthed cushions decorated with ancient embroidery that she fell in love and inspiration struck. Thus, an idea was born: melding vintage elements with modern flare to create exquisitely embroidered jewelry. In 2007, Shourouk launched her first line. The beauty and originality of her work caught the eye of Jean-Paul Gaultier and in 2009, she was commissioned to do the jewels for his Fall-Winter couture show. The romantic, feminine and glamorous universe of Shourouk ignites our passions and transports us on a magical journey to otherworldly destinations.
