About the Brand
Sophia Webster created her first collection in Spring-Summer 2013 and pushed into the female shoe world with her fantastic universe. The designer studied at the Royal College of Art and the renowned Cordwainers College. She was rewarded many times during her studies and in particular, received the Cordwainers at London College of Fashion Award of Excellence (2008), the Drapers Student Footwear Designer of the Year (2009) and the Browns Shoe Designer Award (2010). Soon after she graduated, Sophia joined as Nicholas Kirkwood as an assistant. In 2012 she received the Conde Nast Emerging Designer Footwear prize, the prestigious New Gen Award for her first three seasons and the British Fashion Award for Emerging Accessories Designer in 2013. Proving the commercial viability of her creations, Sophia launched her first pop-up in Burlington Arcade in summer 2013 and a second the following winter next to Covent Garden. The success was instant. Her Autumn-Winter 2014 and Spring-Summer 2015 collections are rewarded by the Mayor of London and the British Fashion Council's Fashion Forward.
Sophia Webster has been recognized for her modern approach to the female shoe. A unique and sophisticated style, playing with sweet pop colors and cared for details. A strong imagination, created with butterflies, flamingos and Barbie, all sources of original creations. Sophia Webster has a strong recognizable style, seen in the image of the Butterfly collection and the iconic model, created in 2014. From thee high-heeled sneaker, her line extends with the same softness and refinement. Her shoes almost becomes a game.
Spring-Summer 2017 Collection
This Spring-Summer 2016, Sophia Webster revisits with modernity the colorful world of the little mermaid. Entitled "Launderette Mermaid", the collection transports us to a fantastic and very feminine world inspired by seabed. The cuts are reminiscent of coral shapes, the details are worked like jewelry. Sophia Webster created fresh and original models with pastel colors and light graphics.
