For this Fall/Winter 2017-18, Prada has presented an evolving collection: evolving woman, style and time. Always trying to capture the latest trend, the Italian designer created an ultra-feminist fresco, offering silhouettes that build up as the show goes on, from a young girl to a mature woman, each having their own style. Above all, the show was dominated by functional femininity: flat boots, minimal heels and long-slit skirts, as to avoid interfering with leg movement and of course, pants. Women in all their grace and versatility.

Brothers Mario and Martino Prada founded the Prada brand in 1913. Their shop, "Fratelli Prada" mainly sold handbags and leather goods. In 1953, following Mario Prada’s death, his daughter, Luisa, took over the business. In 1970, Miuccia Prada, her own daughter joined her, before managing the company from 1978. Under her leadership, the brand changed styles. In 1985, Miuccia Prada released her first successful handbag. She then presented her first ready-to-wear collection in 1989. Following the line’s success, she launched the Miu Miu diffusion range in 1992. Three years later, Miuccia Prada expanded the brand’s offer by presenting her first men's ready-to-wear collection.

Miuccia Prada, who was born in 1949, did not aim for a career in fashion. After studying political science and training to become a mime at Piccolo Teatro, she joined her mother in the fashion House in 1970. Eight years later, she succeeded her and launched her first handbag, a nylon tote, in 1979. Her talent as a fashion designer was recognized early on: in 1993, four years after launching her first ready-to-wear collection, she was awarded the International Award at the CFDA Awards. Twenty years later, in 2013, the British Fashion Awards added a new category to their list, International Designer of the Year and Miuccia Prada won the prize.
