Best known for its summer sandals, the luxury shoe brand Aquazzura never neglects women during the winter season. For the Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection, the Florentine label proves that it also masters boot designs with the Shanty and Mata Hari creations. This season, the designer shoe brand has imagined embroidered or pearl velvet and satin shoes. Aquazzura fans can be reassured: the brand has not lost its characteristic fantasy, especially with the Powder Puff sling back pumps and mules, named after their fluffy powder puff. In 2011, when Edgardo Osorio was only 25, he co-founded the Aquazzura luxury brand. His innovative designs and high-end products rapidly made him famous in the industry. With his partner Ricardo D'Almeida Figueiredo, the shoe designer also bet on social networking, an underused segment at the time. Thanks to the contribution of some of the most popular influencers, the duo presented their creations via street-style photos. Word of mouth started spreading and department stores quickly became interested in the brand. Specialized in women’s shoe design, the label also offers children’s and wedding collections and plans to expand to men's shoes also. "Sexy Thing", "Wild Thing" and "Powder Puff" are some of the brand’s most popular designs.
Edgardo Osorio began his first fashion internship, in Colombia, his native country, when he was only 14 years old. Two years later, he moved to London where he joined the London College of Fashion. But his college experience was short as he quickly moved to Italy to work as a shoe and accessories designer at Salvatore Ferragamo. When he was 23, he was appointed Head of the Shoe Department at Roberto Cavalli while he continued to study at the Polimoda Institute. In 2011, at age 25, he co-founded his own luxury shoe brand Aquazzura.
