The modern elegance and outstanding quality of Saint Laurent’s eyewear collection give its products a truly unique feel.
Founded in 1961, the Yves Saint Laurent fashion house quickly made a name for itself. Led by its founder, who had already won his spurs during three years at Christian Dior after the designer's death, the upcoming brand took the fashion scene by storm with its contemporary, original aesthetic, drawing on previously untapped cultural and artistic references. In 1966, the brand became the first fashion house to launch the concept of luxury ready-to-wear with its Saint Laurent Rive Gauche line, a symbol of youth and freedom.
Now a member of the Kering Group, the brand has remained true to its roots and continues to position itself at the cutting edge of fashion. Under the creative direction of Anthony Vaccarello since April 2016, it now offers a full range of women's and men's ready-to-wear garments, leather goods, shoes, jewellery and eyewear, all under the Saint Laurent Paris logo. By way of a licence agreement, it also has a major presence in the perfume and cosmetics sector.
Born on 18 January 1982 in Brussels, Anthony Vaccarello has been the Artistic Director of Saint Laurent since April 2016. The designer and graduate of La Cambre (Belgium) was far from new to the scene, and already boasted an impressive CV when he made his début at the Parisian brand. After a stint at Fendi, he founded his own fashion house in 2009 before joining the Versus Versace teams in 2012, first as an independent consultant, then as artistic director from 2015 onwards.
Renowned among his peers, he was awarded the Grand Prix at the International Festival of Fashion & Photography in Hyères in 2006 and scooped the ANDAM Fashion Award in 2011.
