J.W. Anderson

Originally from Northern Ireland, J. W. Anderson studied at the London College of Fashion made his debut with an accessories collection. The collection was a success, allowing the designer to officially launch his eponymous label in 2008 during London Fashion Week. Accessories and ready-to-wear initially intended for men whose success spread internationally. With this success, he launched his first capsule collection for women in 2010, for which he is now the it-designer. It didn’t take long for him to be awarded by the the NEWGEN British Council as best young emerging designer, and in 2014 won the British Fashion Award for Designer of the Year. This brand with a strong identity brought men’s and women’s collections for subsequent seasons. While the designer was also appointed artistic director of the Loewe house since 2013, revolutionizing the Spanish house thanks to his style that combines clean lines with innovative and experimental designs.The Irish roots of J. W. Anderson are apparent in her designs and the logo-shaped anchor with clear marine inspirations. He develops men’s and women's collections, having fun whilst playing between genres. His concept of a shared wardrobe is avant-garde and makes him one of the most innovative and creative designers. His collections stand out with a mix of cultures, a melting pot ranging from a Latin folklore and a singularly English punk-rock style. His signature is also experimental and sensual, highlighting feminine silhouettes and bodily curves. More than models and trends, the designer sends us his desires to live a real experience and express their personality traits through its brand.J. W. Anderson comes back to surprise us while remaining faithful to his singular style. The runway show plunges us into a futuristic world and the designer reveals a glimpse of the vision of previous generations in today's style. He also reveals a fascinating collection of accessories and experimenting with materials, where tiled heels, lace and leather band themselves on bags with fancy handles adorned with tiny feathers. The flagship ornament and recurring detail of the designer remains the stud, which is found on many of the models in this collection.
