Laurence Dacade

Laurence Dacade is best known for her collections that show an understanding of construction as well as a passion for elegant and feminine shoes. The Parisian Luxury accessories designer launched her label in 2003 and Aside from designing and producing her own namesake collection; she also designs the shoe collections for some of the most glamorous luxury brands. Laurence's concept is to make beautiful women even more beautiful, feminine and unique and She see’s Shoes as the foundation on which this can happen. Her love affair with shoes and the foot began when she was fourteen years old and made her first solo purchase of a pair of shoes, red and blue striped ballerinas with a big bow. Laurence is inspired by the cultures of women throughout the world. She travels extensively; her favourite place to contemplate a new collection is at airports and train stations, observing people as the move through their lives. "Shoes, like jewellery, are very sensual objects. My goal is to make shoes for Cinderella, but sexy, with a touch of the French." Dacade's shoes are sexy and elegant while being chic, but never boring. Laurence has created footwear for Givenchy and is also the official footwear designer for Chanel. For the summer of 2016, the collection will be filled with sweetness, merging satin, flower prints, pastel French embroidery and ruffles that dress the shoes but undress the feet. Music is still at the heart of the inspiration in her designs, alongside opening herself to a new area, focusing on colourful and graphic architectural references and bringing new lines and perspective to the total vision. Laurence Dacade has interpreted the masculine codes of the 70’s and 80’s punk rock into the feminine closet. The influence of Debbie Harry of Blondie, David Bowie or the Sex Pistols is present in the black double buckles gladiator boots, black patent wedges or white platform Chelsea boots. From this masculine energy she slides towards a more pop and disco movement. More playful, more joyful and more coloured, her collection also complements itself with glitter high boots, metallic patent sandals, booties with « pop » patch applications. Flat, square-toed lace up shoes combine in new association with a lively colour range, that adds a strong linear perspective to the presentation. And always, on each right heel, a metallic beauty mark, and signature of the designer.
