Collection Isabel Marant
Isabel Marant and fashion: a story of true love... It was back in 1995 when the celebrated designer first took her eponymous brand to the catwalk. Fast forward a few short years and her “less is more” style found itself quite the following, and she opened her first store on Rue de Charonne in Paris – a historic boutique that is still open today. Proof if proof were needed that her confident designs, with their combination of urban fashion codes and bohemian inspiration, never go out of style. Quite the contrary in fact - they manage to constantly offer something new. Isabel Marant designs clothes and accessories that make women feel good about themselves, and she champions handmade creations, striving to ensure that traditional skills are kept alive. This is what she refers to as her “ecology of clothing". And her plan clearly succeeded, since some of her designs are now iconic, like her suede "Dicker" boots for example, a best-seller season after season...
Born in 1967 in Boulogne-Billancourt, near Paris, and daughter of an ex-model turned director of the famous Elite modelling agency, from a very early age Isabel Marant was a strong character with a single-minded love of fashion. At just eleven years old, she knew exactly what she did and didn't want to wear. For her, following trends was completely out of the question. So, in her teenage years, she created her own personal style by digging around for pieces in her father's wardrobe. It was a passion that led her to Studio Berçot, where she went on to earn her fashion stripes. Then, at just 22, she launched "Twen", her first knitwear and jersey brand, before founding her eponymous label in 1995. In her own words: "Twenty-five years and thirty-five boutiques later, everything and nothing has changed….".
