Collection Thierry Lasry
As usual, this Fall/Winter season 2017-18, Thierry Lasry presented a both elegant and fun sunglass collection. With their slightly cat-eye structure and their tinted acetate with a thousand colors and prints, they are both stylish and functional, created from French traditional know-how. What more could we ask for?
The Thierry Lasry sunglass brand was founded in 2006. At the time, this optics and business school graduate had a first experience managing the Harry Lary's brand. He started becoming renowned at the Première Classe show where he was one of the only designers to offer sunglasses among optical frames. In 2008, success finally came along with a celebrity: Nicole Richie. The reality TV star wore one of the designer’s creations and he quickly received numerous orders: at first from other Hollywood celebrities (like Madonna), then from the press and brands, such as Acne Studio, Fendi and the concept store Colette who wanted to distribute his creations.
As his father was an optician and his mother was a designer, Thierry Lasry had the profile to launch his sunglass brand. After studying optics and business, he started by reviving the Harry Lary's brand. A few years later, he founded his own sunglass label, a still developing niche at the time. Following his brand’s success, the designer has since moved to the United States where he continues to expand his business.
