The Aquazzura 2018 Spring-Summer collection saw Edgardo Osorio looking to India and the nineties for inspiration. The first influence can be found in the shoe detail: mirrors, bracelets, tassels… The second can be seen in the pastel shades, the metallic inserts and the retro sling-back and mule styles. Of course, the Italian shoe brand still has its best-sellers like the Sexy Thing sandals and the Powder Puff ballet flats.


In 2011, when Edgardo Osorio was only 25, he co-founded the Aquazzura luxury brand. His innovative designs and high-end products rapidly made him famous in the industry. With his partner Ricardo D'Almeida Figueiredo, the shoe designer also bet on social networking, an underused segment at the time. Thanks to the contribution of some of the most popular influencers, the duo presented their creations via street-style photos. Word of mouth started spreading and department stores quickly became interested in the brand. Specialized in women’s shoe design, the label also offers children’s and wedding collections and plans to expand to men's shoes also. "Sexy Thing", "Wild Thing" and "Powder Puff" are some of the brand’s most popular designs.


Edgardo Osorio began his first fashion internship, in Colombia, his native country, when he was only 14 years old. Two years later, he moved to London where he joined the London College of Fashion. But his college experience was short as he quickly moved to Italy to work as a shoe and accessories designer at Salvatore Ferragamo. When he was 23, he was appointed Head of the Shoe Department at Roberto Cavalli while he continued to study at the Polimoda Institute. In 2011, at age 25, he co-founded his own luxury shoe brand Aquazzura.
