Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro founded Bottega Veneta in 1966. At the time, the artisan leather goods brand became renowned for Intrecciato, a technique developed in the House’s Venetian workshops, which consisted of braiding skin strips to strengthen the leather. The label quickly met success and international jet set became loyal customers. However, in the late 80s, the brand declined with the arrival of a new management team that launched the logo bag "BV". In February 2005, the brand presented its first women's ready-to-wear collection, followed by a men’s ready-to-wear line in 2006. Since then, the label has also expanded its business with jewelry and interior design.
