Maison Michel

With muted shades and warm materials Priscilla Royer chose to keep it soft for the Maison Michel Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection: delicate felt, rabbit skin, wool or velvet caps and hats, satin tulle hair accessories and pearl headbands. Beautiful, easy and furiously trendy, this collection will definitely seduce accessory fans. Discover Maison Michel accessories on the MONNIER Frères website.

Maison Michel was founded in 1936 by the hat-maker Auguste Michel. In 1968 Pierre Debard took over the business and gave it a new inspiration. As the hat-making industry was in decline, he decided to regroup two activities under the same brand, millinery and hat-making, and to offer his traditional craftsmanship to major fashion labels, initiating a major change. Haute Couture was immediately seduced by the new Maison Michel designs and numerous brands started to place orders: Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Cardin, Chanel, Givenchy and many others. In 1997, the French label joined the Chanel Métiers d’Art circle, before launching its first ready-to-wear collection in 2006, under the leadership of Creative Director Laetitia Crahay. Maison Michel now offers caps, bonnets, headbands, straw hats, rain hats, capelines and even berets.

Priscilla Royer, Creative Director of Maison Michel since fall/winter 2015 was trained at Studio Berçot and at the famous Central Saint Martins School in London. The fashion designer then joined the Vivienne Westwood studio, where she managed Red Label. In 2011, she founded her own high-end ready-to-wear brand, Pièce d'Anarchive, with her sister Deborah Royer, who received the ANDAM Prize in 2012. The brand closed down after presenting its fifth collection in 2014.
