Sam Edelman

This season, the shoemaker Sam Edelman revisited some of his most iconic designs, adapting them to the latest trends. He added colored brocade to the Taye ankle booties and embossed velvet to the Case booties and to the Loraine loafers. Mules, which were unmissable this summer, dressed up in trendy embroidery this season. The Hazel pump, a Sam Edelman classic, was once again declined in different colors and materials. A collection that will appeal to all.

Shoemaker Sam Edelman founded his eponymous brand in 2004. This was not the designer’s first experience in fashion. He had become famous in the 80s for his iconic flats sold under the Sam and Libby label, which he directed with his wife. More than twenty years later, he returned with the Angelina Wedge Heel Mocassin that sold over 600 copies in a single day. The Sam Edelman brand is currently renowned for its high-quality shoes that are both trendy and original.

Sam Edelman already had experience in footwear before founding a label with his wife Libby. Co-founder of the brand Kenneth Cole Production Inc. and creator of the Esprit brand shoe collection, he quite naturally decided to launch Sam and Libby in 1987. At the time, the couple made an impression with a bow ballet flat design. After selling the company in 1996, Sam Edelman focused on another of his passions: horses. However, in 2001, after falling off a horse, Sam Edelman had to rethink his future. In 2004, he founded the eponymous brand Sam Edelman, offering accessible fashion shoes. Given the success of this new label, he bought Sam and Libby back in 2012 and started producing flats again, that now sold in Target stores amongst others.
