Coperni’s graphic, minimalist style plays with shapes and proportions to bring us handbags created with algebraic precision. The brand - "a tribute to Copernicus, to the idea of innovation and the research that this involves" - offers hybrid creations like the "Swipe", half-egg, half-alien spacecraft, and an exquisite interpretation of the iPhone's "airplane mode". Season after season, Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant’s label continues to amaze.
And it’s important to note that after a much-talked-about stint at Courrèges between 2015 and 2018, the duo's masterfully orchestrated return has created the perfect buzz. The fashion scene has welcomed them back with open arms, embracing their strong influences (Le Corbusier, Yohji Yamamoto, Comme des Garçons, Margiela, Helmut Lang) and their off-beat humour that always makes us smile.
These thirty-somethings, winners of the ANDAM First Collections Prize, met in 2009 at the Mod'Art International Fashion School in Paris, where Sébastien Meyer was studying fashion design and model making, and Arnaud Vaillant the fashion business.
