Ben Elliot is a French artist and influencer. He is part of the internet generation; a digital native who grew up with the social media he now uses for his work, forever merging the real and virtual worlds. Ben has become known in particular for the avatar that represents him on Instagram - a work of art in its own right. He mimics the strategies of influencers, presenting his avatar in luxury locations and poses, even attracting collaborations with brands. His work questions the ability to fit one’s life into a persona and not the other way around. The artist plays with this new role of creator, disseminating the forms, ideas and mechanisms of our time. He also gives his art an economic dimension that is no longer limited to the sale of the work but also incorporates modern communication tools, the creation of digital content, product placement, collaborations and contracts.
