For the Furla Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection, Fabio Fusi chose to pay tribute to the brand's history. This year, the Bolognese brand is celebrating its 90th anniversary, a sacred event that encouraged the Creative Director to revisit his archives. Aldo Furlanetto founded the Furla brand in 1927 in Bologna. At the time, the company specialized in women’s accessory wholesale. It was not until 1955 that the label opened its first store in its hometown and much later that it released a first collection. During the 70s and 80s, when Aldo Furlanetto's children joined their father in the family business, they launched a first home accessory line and their first bags. Since then, the brand has expanded its business to men's accessories as well as glasses and jewelry.


Since 2010 Fabio Fusi has been Creative Director of Furla. The Italian fashion designer is not at his first attempt. Among his extensive experience: Salvatore Ferragamo, Dolce and Gabbana or Cartier. His main success within the Bolognese label is the Metropolis, the brand’s iconic bag, which sold several million copies since its creation in 2014.
