“A Portobello Londoner’s look” could be the definition of Hayley Menzies' Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection. This season the British designer imagined a line that once again mixes recycled fur and precious materials on charming and functional handbag designs, on pompom pashminas and on original ponchos. The perfect way to stay warm and stylish.
In 2011, after a trip to Asia, Hayley Menzies launched her eponymous brand. Her idea? Give a new impulse to the traditional pashmina, adding recycled fur and feathers to the shawl. Her collections met with tremendous success. The designer then created a knitting line. She is inspired by her beloved district, Portobello, and her multiple trips abroad that are reflected in her different designs. As offering ethical fashion is very important to her, she works with environmentally conscious manufacturers in the United Kingdom and throughout Central Europe. She also chooses materials such as Italian cashmere, merino wool, blended cotton or recycled fur that guarantee the great quality of her creations.
From an early age, London designer Hayley Menzies developed a passion for fashion and creation. She started on an Old Singer sewing machine before joining the London College of Fashion. After graduation she first worked as a model for ten years before launching her eponymous brand in 2011.
