Macon et Lesquoy
The Macon&Lesquoy brand has a serious sense of humour, the little accessories use animals, symbols and wordplay and never fail to make us laugh. Spring-summer 2018 sees the Parisian accessories brand take a trip around the world including a stopover in Greece where it picks up olive branches and owls. All tastes are catered for with both brooches and handbag accessories.
The Macon&Lesquoy brand came to be in 2009 with the intention of creating objects that were both beautiful and useful. The little colourful patches stitched with multicoloured thread and wire ribbon created by the two designers behind the brand, were a great way to brighten up a tired pair of jeans or a top. They then started to transform them into brooches and handbag accessories, that broadened their appeal.
Today, the tiny start-up has grown into a recognised accessories brand with many prestigious collaborations to its credit. Wes Anderson, Bonton, Diptyque, Guerlain and Urban Outfitters have all worked with the duo, who work between Paris and Granville.
Marie Macon et Anne-Laure Lesquoy, the two designers behind the Macon&Lesquoy brand met at school twenty years ago, more precisely at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle/les Ateliers. They were firm friends from the get go but didn’t establish the accessories and small jewellery brand until 2009.
