Maryam Nassir Zadeh
At the helm of her eponymous (and renowned) New York concept store, Maryam Nassir Zadeh spent years curating pieces from other designers before embarking on her own designs with her MNZ footwear and clothing brand. Today her collections feature handbags, belts and jewellery in a style that is both minimalist and delicate, a clever combination of daring and elegance. Her flagship models include the Palma heeled sandals, available in several colours, and the Roberta ballerina pumps with tiny heels.
Born in 1977 in Iran, Maryam Nassir Zadeh took her first steps in fashion in New York, graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design. In 2008, she opened her eponymous concept store on the Lower East Side, which brings together - even today - a range of cutting-edge independent designers including Jacquemus. Then, in 2012, she started creating her own designs with her brand MNZ, whose retro-minimalist style is inspired by her travels and the avant-garde boutique owned by her grandmother, a major fashion player in 70s Iran. In 2016, the brand hit the catwalks for the first time at New York Fashion Week, for an impressive début that established MNZ's position at the forefront of the global fashion scene.
