Sophie Hulme

For the Fall/Winter season 2017-18, Sophie Hulme remains faithful to her chic and minimalist aesthetic. The iconic Albion tote comes in unique hues and, since the launch of Evening designs at the end of 2016, the Milner crossbody is embellished with the colors of the rainbow. This season, the British luxury bag designer added a little more fun to her collection with two emerging must-haves Sophie Hulme bags: the Straw Bag and the Cocktail Stirrer Bag named after their straw-shaped or cocktail-stirrer clasps. Fun and well designed, all the ingredients of success.

Sophie Hulme founded her eponymous brand in 2007 and rapidly became famous for her refined creations. The strength of this young British label? High-end fabrics (such as saddle leather), along with an anti-trend approach (she prefers long-lasting handbags to ephemera of a season) and controlled prices. Skillfully combining know-how and humor, Sophie Hulme's creations feature no logo or branding and are solely recognizable by their functional details, such as the small metal plates, inspired by engineering techniques to distribute the weight and relieve the handles on the Albion tote, iconic design of the brand.

Sophie Hulme was born in the North of London and grew up in the London cultural scene. She studied art at the University of Kingston, where she also attended styling courses. Interested in design, she started in the field by imagining a ready-to-wear line for her end-of-year collection. She then launched her brand only a few months after graduation. She designed her first line of luxury handbags in 2011, a success. A year later, Sophie Hulme received the Emerging Talent Award at the British Fashion Awards.
