Aiming for a share of the very busy handbag market, the designer Danse Lente went for originality. The highlight of her first collection, the Phoebe, plays with spirals inspired by the ones on school books and the two accordion pleats that open on either side. This season Youngwon Kim gives the iconic bag a reboot in two-tone leather and a brighter touch of acetate. You get to choose.

Danse Lente

Danse Lente

Youngwon Kim arrived on the fashion scene with a bang in 2017, and her label, Danse Lente, soon became the go-to brand for those in search of a cool, original piece. For Spring-Summer 2019, the Korean-born designer stays on track with new versions of her flagship bag the Mini Johnny, recently to be seen on the arms of fashionistas everywhere. We also get a great new update of the Phoebe Bis, a standout piece with its unique spiral top handle, not to mention the Josh, a newcomer with a more masculine feel.

The Danse Lente label recently made its great debuts on the designer bag stage. Led by South Korean designer based in London Youngwon Kim, the inventive and affordable handbag brand is making a difference in the world of It-bags. These new luxury handbags are based on unexpected shapes, high-end materials, original and sleek details; an immediate success. Phoebe, Johnny, Lorna and Lilou are the new names to remember.

Born in South Korea, Youngwon Kim graduated from the London College of Fashion with a master's degree in shoemaking. The London-based designer then chose to create handbags, an accessory offering more freedom in shapes and sizes. Her first collection, launched in Fall-Winter 2017, has already made her famous in the world of accessory designers.
